Grand Island Northwest moved to 37-0 in defeating Beatrice 25-17, 25-22, 25-21. Erin Sorahan led the Vikings with 13 kills while teammates Katie Placke and McKenzie Brown each had 12. Placke also dished out 18 assists and Sorahan had 22 digs.
Torian Sutter led Beatrice with nine kills and 18 digs. Courtney Jurgens added eight kills for Beatrice and Hannah Laflin had 28 assists.
In the day’s second match, sixth-seeded Norris upset third-seeded Waverly 18-25, 25-18, 25-22, 18-25, 15-12.
Kasey Hohlen, a 6-foot-1 Furman recruit, had 22 kills for the Titans while Kylie Hohlen had 18 and Mackenzie Allen 14. Kylie Hohlen had a team-high 20 digs and Marisa Moseman had 12 digs and 55 assists.
Norris will play Grand Island Northwest in a Class B semifinal at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow.
