Hope has been the starting setter for Lincoln Lutheran since her freshman year. She will be starting her junior season at the end of August. She is fast, great in the back row and is capable of tricking any blocker across the net with her setting abilities. Hope even puts up great blocks against some of the best hitters in the state.
Leimbach plays for an extremely stacked Nebraska ONE Titanium club team. She helped her club team reach new heights during this last club season. She set her team to a Show Me National Qualifier championship in the 16 USA division in Kansas City back in April this year. The team won it back to back years after an outstanding run a year ago as well. She and her club teammates didn’t drop a single set throughout the 3 day National Qualifier
Leimbach set her team up for success at the 2017 USA Girls Junior National Championships in Minneapolis as well. The team fell one win short of making the national quarterfinals in 2016 in Indianapolis, so Hope and her teammates were determined to make it further this year. They made it into the gold bracket after a 3 set thriller with Forza1 from Southern California in their challenge match on the 3rd day. The team prevailed in 3 sets yet again in the 16 National quarterfinals against Surfside volleyball club who was also from Southern California before falling to top seeded Vision from Northern California in the 16 National semifinals. Hope and her teammates finished 3rd and had the highest finish out of all the Nebraska teams in all of the age divisions at either USA or AAU Junior Nationals.
At the Show Me National Qualifier back in April, Leimbach and her teammates got to hoist up the championship trophy, but this November she and her Lincoln Lutheran teammates could be hoisting up the class C-1 state championship trophy. With Marriah Buss and Erin Williams transferring into Lincoln Lutheran, Leimbach could have herself a breakout high school season this year.
Now that Hope has an All-State outside hitter and an All-State libero on her high school team, both of which are her club teammates as well, the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors have what it takes to make a championship run at state this year in class C-1.
Hope runs one of the fastest offenses in the state. Now that she has Erin Williams as her libero in the back row and Marriah Buss as an offensive weapon in the front or back row, they and the rest of the Lincoln Lutheran team have what it takes to make history this year. The Warriors haven’t won a state championship since 2004, which is the school’s only state championship in volleyball.
Leimbach had 663 assists, 123 kills and 314 digs for the Warriors a season ago. With a few new key additions to her high school team, and a successful off season this summer at team camps and Greater Nebraska League, Leimbach will for sure be a player to watch during the 2017 high school season.
