SubscribeIt’s certainly no secret that Erin Williams of Nebraska ONE 17 Titanium is one of the top liberos in the state. And with that, recruiting attention has started to really pick up this club season for the Lincoln Lutheran junior.
After starting her high school career at Lincoln North Star – where she was a starter as a freshman – Williams transferred to Lincoln Lutheran before her junior year and was a key piece in helping the Warriors reach the Class C-1 semifinals last fall. For her career, she has 1,323 digs (4.8 per set) to go along with 120 service aces while serving at a 90.5 percentage.
During this club season she has also shown off her athleticism by occasionally playing as an outside hitter – at all of 5’4 – when her team has been short handed.
For her work in the back row, Williams has garnered recruiting interest from schools ranging from the NAIA level to Division I. She said all the visits she has taken so far have been to Division I or II schools. Williams isn’t in any rush to make a decision, but did say she has a specific time frame in mind.
“I hope to be committed by the time my final high school volleyball season starts, or sooner,” she said. “I want to attend a college that will help me continue to grow academically, as a person and as a volleyball player. Continuing to grow in these aspects is very important to me.”
As of right now, she said Omaha is at the top of her list.
“The academic opportunities that the school provides are incredible,” Williams said. “UNO has amazing volleyball coaches and players that are working hard to continue to develop their program.”
