With the top 10-ranked prospects in the 2019 class already committed to D1 and D2 programs, there are still valuable players up for grabs as recruiting for this class comes to a close and these athletes prepare to enter their senior season. Throughout this club season, these players have been watched and examined by various coaches, but their college destinations and plans are still to be determined.
#13 Mary Nibbe
This 6’2″ setter/RS from Red Cloud High School is yet to decide where she will further her career. Being a multi-sport athlete and residing in a town miles away from established club programs, Nibbe decided against playing club this season, but has confirmed that she does plan to play at the next level. This versatile player is coming off of a high school season in which she tallied 306 assists and 232 kills. We will be looking for a commitment as this elite player heads into the final stretch of her high school career.
#14 Emma Worthington
Worthington is an underrated setter in this class. So far this club season she has been impressive with her strength and consistency for Nebraska Elite 171. Last fall, the 5’10” setter racked 862 assists and 269 kills for Omaha Duchesne. At the President’s Day Classic in Omaha a few weeks ago, Worthington was a solid presence for her team in tight games, and showed her value as a setter and as a vital part of the Nebraska Elite 171 team.
#17 Emmy Grant
Another Nebraska Elite 171 player, Grant is a MH/RS that is uncommitted in this class. For the Millard North Mustangs, the middle attacker has 337 kills in her career and has accumulated a .310 hitting percentage. Being a presence at the net is also one of her obvious strengths for Nebraska Elite and the Mustangs as she tallied 22 solo blocks last fall.
#19 Jaden Ferguson
This dynamic and athletic outside hitter is showing her power and skill-base this club season with Nebraska Juniors 181. The Lincoln Southwest dynamo accumulated an impressive 461 kills last fall and maintained an impressive .308 hitting percentage. The team that gets this elite player will gain a heavy hand and also a player with a large tool-box.
#23 Camryn Opfer
And another high-powered outside hitter in this class, Opfer, has also been rising in value this club season for Nebraska ONE 17 Titanium. In the fall, Opfer will play her senior season at Seward High School where she has already tallied 1012 kills on her previous three years as well as 1072 digs. The 6’1″ attacker was an impacting part of the Nebraska ONE Titanium team at the President’s Day Classic and proved to be a consistent, steady, and smart player in the front and back row.
