Continue ReadingWithin the last two weeks, the very competitive MIAA conference snagged five of Nebraska’s top 2019 recruits. The MIAA (Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Association) consists of 14 universities from Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
Starting off the MIAA commitment trend was Morgan Christiansen, who on May 4th committed to Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. The 6’0” junior MB for Pius X has racked up 244 kills and 90 career blocks as she heads into her senior season. This club season she competed for Nebraska Juniors 171 Black.
Following Christiansen on May 7th was Pius X teammate, Delaney Humm, who also decided to continue her volleyball career at Fort Hays State University. The 5’10” junior OH will enter her senior season with 497 digs and 334 kills. Her 2018 club season was played with VCNebraska 17 Elite.
On May 8th, Emmy Grant of Millard North made her verbal commitment to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. Grant is a 6’0” MB who has accumulated 200 career blocks and 337 kills heading into her final high school season. She is a current member of Nebraska Elite 171.
May 8th was also the date that Bailey Wilson verbally committed to the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Wilson is a 6’0” junior MB from Millard West. She will enter her senior season with 322 career kills. She is competing this club season with Premier Gold 17.
To wrap up the recent MIAA commits, last Thursday May 10th, 6’0” OH Camryn Opfer verbally committed to continue her career at Washburn for the 2019 season. The Seward junior has accumulated 1,012 career kills and currently plays for NebraskaONE Titanium 171.
