The 15’s age group is headed into their last day of nationals and there is a lot on the line. Wisconsin is very well represented with Midwest Penguins 15-Black in the National division; Wisconsin Ice and Wisconsin Premier in the American division; and RVA, Southport, SWVBC, and WVA in the Patriot division.
All teams have been in fierce competition over the last three days with some big wins and tough losses. Going into the last day of competition, three setters truly stood out among the crowd.
Lily Behrendt (Wisconsin Premier 15 Teal): Lily is a great setter who is not afraid to run tough plays. She plays great defense and moves the ball around well. Lily has a great connection with her hitters making their offense very powerful. Additionally, she plays right side andhas great control as a hitter.
Hailey Boelter-Eberhardt (Midwest Penguins 15 Black): After suffering a partially dislocated shoulder on the first day of nationals, Hailey came back to play the end of day two and all of day three. Despite being injured, she placed the ball well and connected perfectly with her hitters.
Bryn Janke (Wisconsin Ice 15 Purple): Bryn is a very dynamic athlete. She runs a 5-1 for Wisconsin Ice and is very smart, sneaking in swings on the second ball every once in awhile, always throwing the other team out of system. She has a truly powerful jump-float serve and is great at moving the ball around.
These setters are all great athletes who have amazing court awareness and know their teams well. They run their offenses fast and powerful.
