Division 1 – 2nd place Burlington
Maddie Berezowitz Maddie Berezowitz 5'7" | DS/L Burlington | 2019 State WI – 2019 – 5’8” – Libero/Defensive Specialist – Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold – Committed to Kentucky
It’s not a surprise to me that Berezowitz would be a smooth infielder with the way she moved in defense on the volleyball court. Burlington got the gold in November, but this June they fell just short to a strong Sun Prairie team. Berezowitz would have made a solid two-sport collegiate athlete, but after leading the Demons in 2017 with 200 digs and playing with a very strong Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold team, she has committed to playing volleyball at Kentucky and is off the market!
Division 3 – 2nd place Tomahawk
Taylor Shilts – 2019 – 5’6” – Setter
Shilts is a diamond in the rough. She is tenacious and hardworking, and that shows both on the court and in the field. She increases her volleyball IQ with every match she plays and pushes those around her. In 2017 she led the Hatchets with 275 assists. Shilts would make an outstanding dual sport athlete at a Division 3 or Junior College level.
Division 5 – 1st place McDonell Central
Maggie Craker Maggie Craker 5'8" | S McDonell Central | 2021 State WI – 2021 – 5’8” – Setter
Amber Thaler – 2021 – 5’8” – Middle Blocker
McDonnell Central Macks earned a conference title over Regis and were knocked out of the tournament last year by state champs, Clayton. The Macks have a lot of youth returning that could make them contenders again in 2018. This strong youth also helped their softball team take a D5 State Softball title with players like Craker and Thaler. Craker led Central in 2017 with 1269 assists and sees the court well; and even though she is right-handed, she is pretty smooth attacking with her left. Thaler will be needed to step up into taking more swings after graduating a couple of Mack’s top attackers.
