The announcement was made Monday of this week on social media that Mischnick is stepping down and that current and past volleyball families are invited to celebrate Mischnick’s 15 years of service to Concordia Volleyball at a function in early February.
Concordia made its first appearance at the state volleyball tournament in 2010 and returned again in 2011 – losing to Grand Island Central Catholic in the first round both years.
In 2014, Concordia defeated GICC in the first round en route to the state championship match where it fell to Kearney Catholic. In 2016, Omaha Concordia returned to the Class C-1 finals, this time defeating Malcom in an epic 25-22, 27-25, 37-35 match that gave the school its first state championship of any kind.
Omaha Concordia returned to the state tournament in 2017, losing to Grand Island Central Catholic in the first round.
