FaR Out 16 Red came away with the title while Toledo Dynamic Volleyball 16 Elite, Munciana 16 Wolfpack and Inside Out 16 Mizuno Black were among the other semifinalists. Here’s the players that stood out from the four teams.
Adysen PorterFaR Out 16 Red: FaR Out had plenty of hitters to work with this weekend and none stood out more than Morgan Fugate. The outside hitter brought a lot of power in her attacks and she also showcased six-rotation skills by being steady on serve receive and serving. Middles Alison Deweerd and Adysen Porter were also a handful for opposing teams, as they provided a great block and had some strong finishes at the net. Audrey Torres also had some big attacks in the final against TDV. Libero and captain Lauren Peal was also a calming influence for the team with her play and leadership. FaR Out had some momentum swings during the weekend, but Peal kept the team from slipping too far and helped them battle back from big deficits.
Ainsley PageTDV 16 Elite: Toledo Dynamic Volleyball was not lacking in powerful attacks. Outside hitter Kamryn Wolf was someone that TDV went to consistently and she was up to the challenge of taking on as many swings as they would give her. She mixed up her swings well and was definitely a top player this weekend. It was easy to notice Ainsley Page, another hitter for TDV. Despite a shorter frame, Page could jump out of the building and delivered big power on her attacks. Page is pretty power-dominant right now, so as she develops her offspeed attacks and improves on her accuracy, she will be a big force in the Ohio volleyball scene. TDV also had a strong middle in Jayda Copciac. She was a great compliment to Wolf and Page on the outside.
Alicia MumbyInside Out 16 Miuzno Black: A smaller squad in stature, Inside Out was able to get to the semifinals thanks to some great defensive play. Among the notables in the back row were libero Haley Lemkie and Reilly Murphy. They, along with their teammates, were getting to a lot of balls and passing well to keep Inside Out in rallies. Inside Out struggled to finish points when they had their chances, but middles Alicia Mumby and Brianna Stawski were reliable hitters for them. Mumby really got above the net while Stawski plays very long and provided a great block.
Isabel AdamsonMunciana 16 Wolfpack: The team from Indiana had its chances to win its semifinal with FaR Out Red, but couldn’t quite finish things off in a three-set loss. Munciana had to make an adjustment this week due to a short-handed roster. Isabel Adamson moved from her DS position to play the front row and she stepped up in a big way. Adamson looked like a natural up front. Shelby Settles handled the back row just fine as well, playing at a high level at the libero position. When it came to attacking, Mikayla Christiansen was a go-to for Munciana this weekend and she showed great leaping and finishing ability. Natalie Miles also had some standout moments while setter Serena Dodson played well and was also a tough block up front.
