This past weekend at the MidEast National Qualifier in Indianapolis there were some setters from the Class of 2021 who were doing extraordinary things that not only puts them at the top of their class, but some who may be considered some of the top in the nation. This goes beyond just getting the ball to the pin and setting the middle in transition, for most at a high level that’s done in their sleep. This group is able to set in transition off the ten foot line, attack at the perfect time, and be a physical defender at the net and the backrow.
Brooke Mosher (WI) – FC Elite 18 Navy
Committed To Illinois
Mosher has “X Factor” written all over. She can do a little bit of everything extremely well. Playing on a team two years up from where she could be playing at, Mosher is so neutral from where she takes the ball and is really tough to read from where she could set to as well as her tempo. She can also be an extremely physical attacker with a nasty left hand (she’s right handed), but she has a knack for knowing when the right moment is and the right spot. FC Elite 18 Navy has earned an Open bid and will be playing at nationals in Dallas at the end of April.
Julia Bishop (MI) – MI Elite 16 Mizuno
Bishop is one of the top players in the Class of 2021 and her game is very similar to Mosher. An incredible athlete who is always under control she just commands the court. She’s like the point guard, quarterback, and shortstop all in one with her athleticism and ability to lead. When she gets pulled off the net, she can still set the tempo to the middle and make it look incredibly easy. Defensively, her blocking is very strong. Many times teams will attack the opposing setter, but in this case offenses are better off hitting cross court with Bishop protecting the line. Bishop is uncommitted as of now as to where she is going to school, but in the heart of Big Ten country there will be plenty of power five conferences wanting her to be apart of their program.
Emme Bullis (WI) – Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold
Committed To Minnesota
Sunday morning was definitely a moment of crunch time for Milwaukee Sting who was playing Adversity out of Illinois as well as Mintonette (OH) in gold pool play. Both matches went to three sets and Bullis stepped up big time. Of course she has future college teammate in Mckenna Wucherer as an outlet to the pin, but she was able to set up and coming 2021 prospect Kaityln Riley involved as well as getting the ball to right side attacker Katie Winkler as well. In their match against Adversity in set three, up 14-13, but momentum in favor of Adversity she took the second contact over to seal the victory for Sting after spreading the offense out on both pins.

Brooke Bolwerk (WI) – FC Elite 16 Navy
Bolwerk has really solid tempo and placement that is extremely key for her hitters to trust. Well trained, disciplined and just makes the machine work for FC Elite, she has the ability to adjust on the fly and put the ball where it needs to be in order to terminate. FC Elite has weapons at every spot and a solid first contact in 2023 libero, Saige Damrow they are tough to stop, especially in system.
Kiersten Kraus (WI) – FC Elite 16 Navy
Kraus is one of the better athletes you will find in Northeast Wisconsin for the Class of 2021. With a brother who plays baseball at UW-Milwaukee and her older sister Kayla on the FC Elite 18 Navy team who will be going to play volleyball at Loyola in Chicago, Kraus just moves so naturally around the court. With the ability to play multiple positions, including right side, she is a swiss army knife of options. She will be training with high performance out of the Badger Region this upcoming summer.
Lilly Lutz (WI) – Milwaukee Sting 15 Gold
Don’t forget about Lutz! She is able to play on the 15s team, but is from the Class of 2021. She moves around the court like a water beetle, getting to every ball, and has great hands. She may not have the overall height, but she is scrappy, gets her hands to the ball, and puts up a really hittable ball. Sting 15 Gold has had plenty of close matches over the past couple months and have made some huge strides. She connects well with outside hitter Maleah Howe and Morgan Dougherty.
Morgan Yenter (WI) – Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold
This is Yenter’s first year playing for Milwaukee Sting and is getting to play against some really high level competition as well as work with players who are getting plenty of exposure. At nearly six feet tall and left handed, she puts up a really nice ball to the pin and can run all different types of tempos. A solid defender in the backrow as well she can swing on the second contact as well.
