We previously previewed the teams from Nebraska competing in the USA and American divisions, but the Open divisions are the cream of the crop and winning Open titles are not common. Yet, Nebraska has two of them already this year thanks to Premier 15 Gold and Premier 16 Gold each winning Open titles in Colorado.
Those two teams are headed to Kansas City to continue to make their case for being among the best in the nation while eight more from Nebraska are also competing at that level.
In 17 Open, a 32-team tournament, Nebraska has four teams in the field with VCNebraska Elite earning the highest seed among them with a #16 seed while Nebraska Elite 17 Frost came in as the #22 seed. Nebraska Juniors 17 Black is the #30 seed and Nebraska Gold 17s are seeded #31.
In 16 Open, Premier 16 Gold starts as the #5 seed in the tournament. VCNebraska 16 Elite is seeded #18 overall in the 24-team tournament and Nebraska Juniors 16 Black is seeded #23.
Premier 15 Gold has the #1 overall seed in the 24-team 15 Open field. Nebraska Elite 15 KOA begins the tournament as the #14 seed and VCNebraska 15 Elite is seeded #22.
