In the 16 Open division, Nebraska Elite 16 2.0 went 2-1 in its pool play on Saturday to advance on in the Open division. Because of the quantity of teams that have already received an Open bid that are still playing in Minneapolis, Nebraska Elite 16 2.0 has also already secured a bid to the USAV GJNC in the 16 Open division regardless of today’s outcome.
In 16 USA, Banzai 161 – which entered the tournament as the #8 overall seed, advanced to the gold bracket with a record of 2-1 on Saturday.
Nebraska’s third team that is still alive for a championship is in the 16 American Division where Nebraska Elite 16 Black Ice went 2-1 and then survived a playoff match by beating Performance 161 25-20, 18-25, 15-13 to advance on. Also in 16 American, VCNebraska went 1-2 on Saturday and fell into consolation play.
In 17 American, it wasn’t the best of days for Nebraska’s three teams that were still in the title hunt as Nebraska ONE 17 Platinum, Premier 17 Red and Banzai 171 went a combined 1-8 as none of them were able to reach the championship bracket.
