Wisconsin is always deep with talent, but with only one Division 2 school in UW-Parkside, plenty of athletes at that level of play will find their home out of state which is the case for Olivia Dir of Union Grove along with Megan Piton and Taylor Vanden Berg from Appleton North.
Olivia Dir – Union Grove – Wisconsin Juniors – Outside Hitter
Committed to Northwest Missouri State
Dir commits to Northwest Missouri State a couple weeks after Kyah Luhring, a standout libero from Iowa also making her verbal which is shaping into a strong recruiting class from 2020. Dir is an All State outside hitter where she had 384 kills and 256 digs in her Junior campaign. Dir is a complete six rotation athlete who can do a little bit of everything. Playing on the pin for Wisconsin Juniors , her serve receive, ball control, and ability to make shots to find the open court is what sets her apart from the rest. Dir will be joining another Wisconsin athlete on the roster in Maddy Ahrens who prepped at Appleton North and played for Wisconsin Volleyball Academy . Ahrens was one of the top setters in the MIAA, leading the conference in assists her Sophomore year.
Megan Piton – Appleton North – One Wisconsin – Libero
Committed to Colorado Christian
Piton will be heading to Colorado Christian, an NCAA Division 2 school located in Denver, part of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. This past season, Piton had over 400 digs as the libero for Appleton North. She has been a constant defensive presence for North and Wisconsin Volleyball Academy as well as One Wisconsin this past season. Piton will join two other Wisconsin prep players in Christa Tucker of Christian Life School and Katie Henry of Manitowoc Lincoln.
Taylor Vanden Berg – Appleton North – One Wisconsin – Setter
Committed to Wingate University
Vanden Berg is a 6’0 extremely dynamic setter that is also a major offensive threat as well as defensive presence at the net. She will be heading to NCAA Division 2 Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina which is part of the South Atlantic Conference with other schools in the Carolinas and the Southeast. Vanden Berg will team up with fellow setter Brooke Bolwerk at Appleton North this fall from the Class of 2021 and recently committed to Minnesota State – Mankato.
