During her initial recruiting process, Buss said that she really enjoyed her visit to Alabama at that time but ultimately chose Wichita State over Alabama and others. At that time, Alabama’s coach was Ed Allen. Allen, however, has since moved on to Southern Illinois and new Alabama coach Lindsey Devine thought it might be worth it for Buss to come back for a visit under a new coaching staff.
“I’m still going to Wichita,” Buss said. “With the new coaches at Alabama, I was reached out by them so I decided to have a look. But, I decided that I’ll still be going to Wichita (because) that’s just where my heart is.”
Buss had 637 kills last fall for Lincoln Lutheran in helping lead the Warriors to the Class C-1 state finals. For her career, Buss has 1,748, which makes her the Class C-1 career record holder despite being just a junior.
