Plahn is ranked as the #9 overall prospect in the Nebraska 2020 class and the second-best uncommitted player left on the board. That, despite the fact that she hasn’t had a chance at a prominent role with the Mustangs up to this point. That will all change next season, though.
For her career, the 6-foot-1 and athletic Plahn has 126 kills and 77 total blocks in 115 career sets played. With players like Omaha recruit McKenna Ruch, the defending Class A Player of the Year, Iowa recruit Emma Grunkemeyer and Northwest Missouri State recruit Emmy Grant, there has been a log-jam of talent in the middle and on the right side for Millard North.
Plahn has been impressive during club seasons, however, and in the time that she has been able to get on the court for Millard North and colleges have taken note. Plahn has taken visits to UNLV, Northern Illinois and Northwest Missouri State and said she may take a couple more before making a final decision.
“(I’m) still weighing my options and deciding on what school I feel most comfortable attending,” Plahn said.
Comfort, and academics, has a lot to do with her decision.
“I’m most looking for a school that I feel comfortable attending, with an academic program that has the degrees that I am considering for a major, and coaches that I feel comfortable with,” she said. “I feel like the recruiting process had gone fairly well, I think the new recruiting rules are great and am glad I have waited to make a final decision. I feel like I was not ready to commit to a final decision at a younger age.”
Plahn also has had quite a bit of success as a model in recent years and recently signed with an agency. She truly has a lot of prospects for the future, both on and off the court.
