The daughter of highly-respected former Minden coach Ed Rowse, Jensen is perhaps one of the most well-rounded volleyball players in the state, even though the fact is she’s one of the top high school attackers.
At 5’9, Rowse has tallied more than 500 kills in each of the past two seasons and has 1,363 for her career, averaging 4.9 terminations per set. She also has 35 career blocks to go with 1,055 digs, 177 aces, 148 assists and 1,286 serve receptions. Last fall, Rowse ranked among the top all-class kill leaders with a total of 563.
As a freshman, she had 112 assists, but her past two seasons she has worked exclusive as an attacker, all though her skill set would allow her to be a defensive specialist or even a setter at the next level in larger programs or an attacker at small schools. Her skill set is rare and in demand. Jensen is ranked as the #26 overall prospect in the state of Nebraska in the 2020 class and the seventh-best player that is uncommitted.
Rowse said she is being actively recruited by Nebraska Wesleyan but is still in the process of contacting schools and talking with them about their recruiting situations for 2020.
“I haven’t taken any official visits although I’m planning to take a few, hopefully, next fall. I was quite interested in Hastings before Coach Buttermore moved to UNO but I look forward to being in touch with the new coach at Hastings,” Rowse said. “Schooling is the most important aspect of the college I would attend. I’m looking to go into physical therapy so a good science/biology program is a must for me.”
Several in-state schools have expressed interest in Rowse, so it’s not a matter of whether or not she will have options available before she graduates, but rather, what school has the best fir for her athletically and academically.
“I’m not in too much of a hurry to commit soon. Although, I would like to be committed by the end of my fall season next year. I just want to find a school that fits my academic and athletic needs,” she said. “As I said earlier, Hastings was one of my front runners and will continue to be one despite the coaching change. I’m also interested in UNK although, they are wrapping up their recruiting class of 2020. Fort Hays is also a school I have some interest in as well as Wayne State.”
