Omaha Marian has a history of producing some of the top libero talent in the state, so it’s no surprise that the libero libero in the Class of 2021 is a Crusader.
Ranked as the #16 overall prospect in the sophomore class, the Nebraska Elite product continues to impress during the club season. But, since liberos are generally one of the last recruiting targets for colleges, she hasn’t had a slew of offers come her way, but that could all change very quickly as she prepares for the final few weeks of the club season, and the fact that she can start having contact with Division I programs come June 15.
“The current status on my recruitment is wide open,” Miller said. “I am hopeful and excited about new interest that might come my way. My recruitment process feels slow, but I know that back row recruitment can be slower versus the front row and setters”
Miller has not taken an official visits yet, she said, but that could all change in a few weeks when those opportunities become available to her.
Last club season she played a huge role in her club team’s success at the national level for Nebraska Elite and then shortly after the start of her sophomore season, she emerged as the Marian libero and continued her outstanding play.
Last fall she played 60 varsity sets and had 212 digs and 220 serve receptions to go with 13 ace serves. She had a season-high 25 digs in a victory over Papillion-LaVista in October.
In a way, Miller said, she likes the fact that the bulk of the recruiting process is still in front of her as she prepares for her junior year of high school.
“I am looking for a school that is a good fit for me both academically and athletically. Also, the relationship with the coaches would be very important to me,” she said. “Again, the recruitment process for me is wide open. I have interacted with a variety of schools via SportsRecruit. I am open to a lot of different schools, but there are no front runners currently in the picture.”
