For Nebraska Juniors and VCNebraska they will both have two teams playing in a Gold pool Thursday morning with the chance to get into the championship bracket for Friday. Here is a quick breakdown of how they got there.
16 Open
VCNebraska 16 Elite
Nebraska Juniors 16 Black
Nebraska Juniors 16 Black is just finding a way to keep on advancing, one match, one day at a time. After going 2-1 on Day 1 and winning their third match against Forza1 North out of California in three sets it set them up in a three team pool which can always be a little dangerous. After a loss to KIVA 16 Red, Nebraska Juniors came back against one of the top teams and clubs in country in A5 out of Atlanta. They will be in a gold pool with Encore (CA), Sports Performance (IL), and TPV (TN). In order to advance to gold they must finish in the top two of their pool.
VCNebraska 16 Elite was a three seed in their Day 1 pool, and thats how they would finish with the likes of Northern Lights (MN) and Rage (CA). However, VCN has gone on to win three out of four to earn a spot in a gold pool with wins over A2 (OH), Vegas Aces, and Legacy (MI). All three matches today were in three sets. They will be in a gold pool with Hive (UT), OT (FL), and A5 (GA).
16 Premier
Nebraska Juniors 16 Red
Just gritty. This team has experienced way more than what 16 year olds need to face in a week and the past few days they have just found a way to win when it counts. They finished third on Monday with a three set win over a team out of Hawaii to stay in the hunt and two more three set wins later against Kokoro (MN) and DME Elite (FL) with a score of 16-14 in set three has them in a gold pool on Day 3. Got a game, got a chance.
16 Club
VCNebraska 16 Black
This squad has been blazing through the competition the past two days. Without dropping a set, they will be up against some of the other top club teams in the Midwest on Wednesday when they are in a pool with Wisconsin Juniors, Chicago Elite, and Balance (IL). Finish in the top two to guarantee a challenge match later on Wednesday for a chance to get into the Gold Bracket on Thursday.
*Classic and Aspire are still finishing up play to get into Gold Pools for Wednesday at the time of publishing this article.
