Continue ReadingThe Class of 2021 has been in the middle of all the various recruiting rule changes over the past couple years. From their 14s year of potentially talking with college coaches before even setting foot in high school to their 15s year when visiting college campuses and staffs on “Unofficial Visits” became a little murky, to this past year when communication was halted from May 1 to June 15. With camps in full swing throughout the summer, especially in July, athletes have gotten the chance to get on campus, work with the coaching staff, get to know potential incoming recruits and current athletes, and possibly make that decision as to where they will continue their education and volleyball career. Here is the first wave of the Class of 2021 making their summer volleyball verbal commitments.
Hattie Bray – FC Elite – Wautoma High School – Middle Blocker
Committed to Marquette
Bray brings to the table a lot of athleticism and speed. She plays high, touching ten feet and can run down a slide with the best of them. This past season she spent time playing at the 18s level for FC Elite who qualified for 18 Open at USAV Nationals. The valuable experience gained playing at a high level showed plenty of college coaches what potential she has at the next level. Bray is the third in-state recruit to commit to Marquette where she will join Sam Naber, a libero from Burlington and Ella Foti, a setter from Edgewood.
Emme Bullis – Milwaukee Sting – Whitewater High School – Setter
Committed to Cal-Poly
Bullis played a big part in the success of Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold this past season finishing 5th at USAV 16 Open Nationals. A former Minnesota commit, Bullis opened up her recruiting this past season and will be heading to Cal-Poly, the 2018 Big West Champions who finished up their 2018 season with a 25-3 record. Bullis will bring energy, intensity, and athleticism to a program that is developing into one of the tops on the West coast.
I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at University of Minnesota-Duluth! Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way! Go Bulldogs💛 pic.twitter.com/F10PN53pEJ

Payton Addink – Capital Volleyball Academy – Sun Prairie High SChool
Committed to Minnesota-Duluth
Addink will be heading to Duluth where she will be able to step in and compete for a national title right away in one of the top Division 2 conferences in the nation in the Northern Sun. A six rotation outside hitter who can serve receive and score points out of the backrow, is a lethal attacker that can do a little bit of everything. She had a breakout Sophomore year, being a big part of Sun Prairie’s run to the state tournament. UMD has a strong recruiting class for 2020 with Cianna Selbitschka, one of the top outside hitters in Minnesota as well as Maddi Kealy, a top setter out of River Falls.
