Continue ReadingThe Sun Prairie Invite will feature some of the top athletes in the state, some who have already made their verbal as to where they will be playing their college volleyball. Before I go into the list, I know there is probably someone out there we have missed. If you have any commitment news, email chris@prepdig.com or tag us in your social media post when making the big decision. I’m looking forward to starting the season at one of the top tournaments in the state which I’m sure some of them will be playing key matches in early November.
KJ McNabb – Sun Prairie
KJ McNabbCommitted to Loyola-Chicago
McNabb has been the face of the Sun Prairie volleyball program the past couple years with her ability to play all the way around, fly to attack out of the backrow, and spark a big celebration after a thunderous kill. As McNabb goes, so does Sun Prairie. She will be heading to an up and coming program in the Missouri Valley Conference in Loyola-Chicago. McNabb has quite the offensive numbers, but she is one of the best middle back defenders in the state.
Payton Addink – Sun Prairie
Committed to Minnesota-Duluth
Addink is one of the top outside hitters in the Class of 2021 and has given her verbal to play at Minnesota-Duluth, an NCAA Division 2 powerhouse in one of the top D2 conferences in the country. Addink plays opposite of McNabb and provides a solid outlet anywhere on the court. She has also really developed her all-around game and has developed into a solid serve receiver.
Izzy Schauer – Watertown
Committed to Belmont
Schauer is heading to Nashville, home of Belmont University, a Division 1 school in the Ohio Valley Conference. She is just a gamer, plays big in big moments, and is so effective in all rotations being a physical attacker, a lock down defender, and can turn a block in to score points. What sets her apart is just how she commands the floor at all times, major floor general.
Sam Gray – Watertown
Committed to Huntington
Between Gray and Schauer, the energy they have is absolutely contagious, you catch it by just watching from the stands. These two play with plenty of fire and intensity. Gray takes an aggressive approach to score points while also being a really solid defender. Huntington is an NAIA school located in Huntington, IN.
Ella Foti – Edgewood
Committed to Marquette
A healthy Ella Foti is dangerous. Foti was full strength after battling through an injury her Sophomore year. With her return, this puts Edgewood at another level with multiple athletes who can score points and defend. Foti is primarily a setter, but she can swing and block with the best of them, an exciting player who makes others around her better.
Katie DiRaimondo – Manitowoc Lincoln
Katie DiRaimondoCommitted to Tennessee Tech
DiRaimondo and Schauer will be seeing each other across the net this weekend and even the next four years when they both compete for Ohio Valley schools. A six rotation outside hitter who provides a heavy arm from the pin, DiRaimondo will be heading to Cookeville, TN to play for Tennessee Tech.
Kaycee Meiners – DeForest
Committed to Michigan Tech
Meiners will be one of the top attackers returning for DeForest out of the middle. She will be heading to Michigan Tech that has already made a splash in the recruiting world in the Class of 2020 for Wisconsin picking up verbals from Katherine Walch (Green Bay Notre Dame) and Lauren Richards (Appleton West).
Macy McGlone – Hortonville
Committed to UW-Milwaukee (Basketball)
McGlone would definitely be on the radar for plenty of college coaches for volleyball if she wasn’t heading to Milwaukee for basketball. Extremely physical, major hangtime, and really aggressive on the net, McGlone commands the front row and jumps for those 50/50 balls like she is going for a rebound.
