Earlier in the season, Scott, who is among the top high school volleyball players in Kentucky, recorded her 2,000th career assist in a victory over rival Sacred Heart. At the start of the week, Scott was announced as the 2019 Midway University/KHSAA Volleyball Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
The Midway University/KHSAA Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Year Award is based upon overall athletic performance (60 percent), academic achievement (20 percent) and community service (20 percent). Students must possess an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better to qualify and must be academically eligible during the season in which they were nominated.
Prior to entering the postseason, in 32 games (89 sets), Scott compiled 157 kills, 62 blocks, a team-high 731 assists, 319 digs and 47 aces for the Jaguars.
Scott has helped lead Mercy to the 2019 24th District Volleyball Tournament title game. Mercy (29-6) is set to meet Bullitt East (23-10) in the 24th District title game on Wednesday night.
