In four years, setter/outside hitter Victoria Kusche and middle blocker Josie Disponette, both of whom have been longtime leaders on the court and in classroom, helped West Jessamine post 95 wins, finish undefeated in the 46th District, claim four district championships, capture three 12th Region titles and reach the the 2017 KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament Elite Eight.
Kusche exited her senior season with a team-high 860 kills, along with 225 digs, 33 aces, 31 kills and 29 blocks.
Disponette delivered a team-best 124 blocks as well as 258 kills, 81 digs and 48 aces in her final prep campaign.
West Jessamine defeated Pulaski County 3-1 (20-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-22) in the 2019 12th Region Volleyball Tournament title match to advance to the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament.
In a meeting of border rivals, Henry Clay ousted West Jessamine from the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament, shutting out the Colts 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-16) in one of the eight opening round matches.
Prior to competing in the postseason, ultimately winning district and region crowns and making an appearance in the state tournament, West Jessamine won the Taylor County Throwdown, an event held in Campbellsville in mid-September.
