Appleton North Students Host School Supply Drive at Prep Dig Resolution
Clubs and Fans! Bring in school supplies to help support the Community School System through Appleton North DECA. Supplies can be dropped off at the Fox Cities Champion Center – host of the 2020 Prep Dig Resolution.
Students from Appleton North High School have helped create and brand the Community School System, a new Appleton Area School District initiative to connect the school with the community. In order to provide the essential resources and services to ensure students are academically prepared Prep Dig and Appleton North DECA are teaming up to collect school supplies for the Community Resource Center.
Students Anya Checkalski and Livvie Asare have established this campaign over the past 5 months. They have organized numerous events to meet the Community School Systems goals including a healthy living day, installing messages of kindness around the school, creating care packages, and working with the students to express themselves through poetry. All of their events are aimed at a specific goal in order to have a lasting impact on the students, families, and community members. Most importantly they have enjoyed working with their classmates and community in order to support the Community School System.
Checkalski and Asare plan to continue their work with the Community School throughout the year by working with agencies and organizations in order to meet the needs of the Appleton Area School Districts’ diverse population. They are excited to see the Community School System grow and look forward to being a part of future initiatives. Appleton North students partner with PrepDig to create School Supply Drive to benefit Community Resource Center!
