In addition, Edmond and teammates Madison Lilley, Gabby Curry, Leah Meyer and Alli Stumler were named to the 14-person American Volleyball Coaches’ Association All-Region Team.
A Paul Laurence Dunbar High School graduate, Edmond was named the 2019 AVCA Region Player of the Year earlier in her college career. She is a four-time AVCA All-Region selection.
Prior to college, Edmond competed for both Lexington United and Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. She was an Under Armour Second Team All-American, an AAU All-American and the 2015 11th Region Player of the Year.
In high school, Edmond was named First Team All-State in 2014 and 2015. She led her club team to an upset of top-seeded Mizuno Sports Performance 18 Elite at the 2015 AAU Nationals.
Kentucky will travel to Waco, Texas to compete in the NCAA Regionals later in the week. The NCAA Sweet 16 will open on Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET when Kentucky faces Washington. The winner of the Kentucky-Washington match will advance into Saturday’s regional final at 4 p.m. ET against the winner of a match between Baylor and Purdue.
