Northeastern Kentucky ELITE Volleyball Club teams fared well throughout the its most recent season. Here are five NKEV 16s to watch in 2020.
Makayla Clark: One of the most underrated young volleyball players in Northeastern Kentucky, Clark was instrumental for Raceland throughout her sophomore season. She played both middle hitter and blocker for her high school volleyball team.
Kinsey Duncan: A sophomore, Duncan was among the leaders for her high school squad. Duncan led Ashland in assists and helped the Kittens finish runner-up to Boyd County in the 64th District. She dished out 530 assists in her first 28 games for Ashland during the 2019 high school season.
Emma Sparks: Among the leaders for 64th District champion Boyd County, Sparks excelled throughout her freshman season. The productive Sparks logged 231 kills, 85 digs and 45 aces through Boyd County’s first 35 games in the 2019 prep season.
Kara Ward: As a freshman, Kara Ward helped to lead Paintsville to another 57th District championship and an appearance in the 15th Region Semifinals. Ward recorded 354 kills, 91 digs and 52 aces for perennial 15th Region title contender Paintsville during her freshman season.
Kyleah Ward: During her sophomore season in the high school ranks, Kyleah Ward led 58th District member Lawrence County. Ward powered Lawrence County at the net, leading her high school team in kills from a middle hitter position.
