A pair of Assumption High School graduates, Hamilton and Hendricks were each instrumental in the Cardinals reaching the Austin Regional Final. Louisville’s 2019 season ended with a loss to Minnesota in Austin, Texas on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Hamilton is a 5-7 junior libero. She made a triumphant return to the court in 2019 after having a medical redshirt during the 2018 season. Prior to coming to Louisville, Hamilton starred for KIVA and Assumption. Hamilton was a JVA All-National team member in 2015 and 2016. She won the JVA Leadership Award in 2015 and was an All-American as 13s and 14s with KIVA. During her prep career at Assumption, Hamilton was named a Second Team Under Armor All-American while earning All-State, All-Region and All-District honors.
Hendricks is a 5-7 freshman libero. In 2016, Hendricks helped her club team to an 11th place finish at the 2016 AAU National Championships. In 2017, her team was the Bluegrass Tournament Champions and the Central Zone Champions before placing third at the 2017 JVA World Challenge. That same year, at the SPVB Junior Nationals, KIVA finished first while placing ninth at the 2017 AAU Nationals. Excelling for Assumption as well, Hendricks helped to lead the Rockets to back-to-back state titles in 2017 and 2018. Assumption was named the 2018 National Champion after compiling a 43-0 record.
Hamilton and Hendricks will have another opportunity to compete together for Louisville during the 2020 college volleyball season.
