Hentz is nearing the end of her college career. A former star at Notre Dame Academy, Hentz was named the Pac-12 Libero of the Year earlier in the season. The Notre Dame product was named AVCA All-Pacific North Region, All-Pac-12 Conference and a Senior CLASS Award finalist. She was a three-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week. Hentz, who graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 2016, broke the Stanford record for career digs, becoming only the third player in school history and 14th in Pac-12 history to register 2,000 career digs.
One of the state’s top all-time high school volleyball players, Hentz was named the 2015 Miss Kentucky Volleyball. Along with leading Notre Dame Academy, Hentz paced NKYVC, her club team. A member of the U.S. Youth National Team, Hentz placed second at the U18 World Championship Tournament in Lima, Peru.
A 2019 graduate of Lexington Catholic High School, Vicini was named All-State First Team as a senior (2018) and Second Team as a junior (2017). She was honored as the 2018 Midway College KHSAA Female Student-Athlete of the Year and named to the AVCA/Under Armour High School All-American Second Team. Vicini is Lexington Catholic’s career, single-season and single-match record holder for kills and blocks. Along with her high school squad, Vicini played club volleyball for Lexington United. Vicini was a member of the U.S. Youth National Training Team from 2016-17.
Stanford (3) is preparing to face Minnesota (4) in the NCAA Semifinals in Pittsburgh at 9:30 p.m. EST on Friday, Dec. 19.
