A look at 10 Louisville 16s to watch follows.
Ally Brown: A 5-6 sophomore defensive specialist from reigning state champion Assumption High School, Brown is competing for KIVA 16 Red in the 2020 club season. Brown will be among the players looking to push for playing time on powerhouse Assumption’s varsity team in 2020.
Kayla Bryant: A 5-9 outside hitter/defensive specialist from Sacred Heart Academy, Bryant contributed for her team during the 2019 high school season. Currently, Bryant is competing for Union 16-1.
Rachel Faith: A six-foot sophomore opposite hitter from Assumption High School, Faith is taking the floor for KIVA 16 Red in the latest club season. Faith will be among the players vying for a varsity spot on tradition-rich Assumption’s roster later in the year.
Olivia Fish: A 6-1 freshman outside hitter from Seymour High School in Indiana, Fish has three high school varsity seasons on the court ahead of her. But prior to even taking the floor as a high school sophomore, Fish is competing for her club team — KIVA 16 Red.
Kelsey Hillebrand: A 6-2 sophomore middle blocker from North Oldham High School, Hillebrand is competing for Union 16-1. Hillebrand chipped in for 8th Region Champion North Oldham during the 2019 high school season.
Natalie Lostutter: A 5-9 sophomore opposite hitter/outside hitter from Floyd Central High School in neighboring Indiana, Lostutter is another promising young player on the court in the 2020 club season. The versatile Lostutter boasts the experience of having played multiple positions thus far in her career. Lostutter is competing for Union 16-1.
Madison Rice-Locket: A six-foot sophomore middle hitter/outside hitter from Male High School, Rice-Locket is competing for KIVA 16 Red. She is one of the state’s best players regardless of class. Rice-Locket is a proven leader for her high school squad and could compete for any prep or club team in the state.
Mia Saenz: A 6-1 sophomore middle hitter, Saenz hails from Bryan Station High School in Lexington but competes for KIVA 16 Red in club volleyball. Saenz is among the top young high school volleyball players in Lexington.
Ella Teeley: A 5-10 sophomore setter from Mercy Academy, Teeley hails from one of the state’s top high school volleyball programs. A successful club campaign with Union 16-1 would help Teeley carry momentum over into her next high school campaign.
Brenna Young: A 5-11 sophomore middle hitter/outside hitter from South Oldham High School, Young is expected to be among the leaders for her high school team during the 2020 prep season. Young is a member of the Union 16-1 team.
