Club Coach Dawn Pochop, Northeast Nebraska Power VBC: As a 5’10 setter, Abby has the potential to easily run a 5-1 at the collegiate level while being the power blocker for the right side. She has great court vision and presence on the court and easily distributes sets to all positions. Abby has a great talent to make difficult skills look easy. Everyone dreams of having the talent she has. She is calm, driven, and super coach-able! As a coach, even when a match is in doubt, I can stay calm because Abby brings that drive and positive spirit to her team.
Abby on Abby: I am a competitive person, and I love the sport of volleyball. I can add many great components to a team. I was the captain of my team for 3 years, so I have been able to be in a leadership role for the majority of my career.

Makayla Hilker | Class C1 O’Neill | 5’5” | Outside Hitter
Senior Season: 243 kills, 2.9 kills/set, 364 digs, 4.3 digs/set
HS Coach Angie Robertson: Makayla Hilker is an all-around asset to any team. She led our team in kills. She has the ability to place the ball where the open court is. Makalya can read hitters well, which contributed to her being one of our top diggers. She is very competitive and has a strong desire to succeed. Makalya has what it takes to play the next level and will bring her love of the game to any court.
Club Coach Dawn Pochop, Northeast Nebraska Power VBC: I describe Makayla as the team worker. She is a steady all-around player and her greatest strength is her back-row play. She has a fun-spirit and proves to everyone around her that she will work as hard as she needs to make great things happen. She is probably one of the best team players I’ve seen in a while. I most admire her fun yet humble spirit and commitment to seeing the team successful rather than her own personal gain. I’m proud of her growth from season-to-season.
Makayla on Makayla: I love to play the game and I’m very passionate about it. I’m a hard worker on and off the court and would provide energy, determination, and skills that a college team is looking for.

HS Coach Sharon Zavala: Lauryn’s play was instrumental for our winning the state championship this year. Her right side defense was outstanding and more importantly, was her tough serving. She had many ace serves throughout the tournament and her tough serving was her trademark all season. She was also a primary passer for us for 5 rotations. She definitely can play at the next level.

HS Coach Reba Hestermann: In the 2 years I have known Mackenzie the best way that I can describe her as a volleyball player and person is that she has a passion for everything she does. She works hard and gives 110% on and off the court. Mackenzie would be an asset to any team in my mind because of the passion. She works to be the very best that she can be and you can always count on her to pull through for her teammates. She also has the determination to reach the goals that you as a coach have for her, as well as ones that she gives for herself to achieve. She adds energy to the floor that helps everyone else who plays with her to step up and perform at their best level.
