Here are six uncommitted Louisville area 17 outside hitters to watch.
Jordan Atchison: A 5-11 junior outside hitter from North Oldham High School, Atchison was among the key players for her prep team. Currently, Atchison is competing for Union 17-1. In her junior season, Atchison helped to lead North Oldham to a district title, a region championship and into the state semifinals. Atchison concluded her junior season with 90 kills, 12 assists, 206 digs and 29 aces in 37 matches.
Anna Blumeier: A 5-11 outside hitter/opposite hitter from Male High School, Bluemeier is an underrated player who can contribute from multiple positions. Bluemeier, who is comfortable playing outside hitter or opposite hitter, is competing for Union 17-1 in the 2020 club season. The Male High School student-athlete’s versatility is key for her squad.
Caroline Cermack: A 5-11 junior outside hitter/middle hitter from state powerhouse Assumption High School, Cermack contributed for her prep team throughout its 2019 season. In her first 35 matches with Assumption during the 2019 prep season, Cermack recorded 95 kills, 16 blocks and 11 aces. The productive Cermack, who is currently competing for KIVA 17 Red, helped Assumption capture district, region and state titles while exiting 2019 36-7. Assumption has captured claimed straight KHSAA championships.
Isabella Hughes: A 5-7 junior outside hitter/defensive specialist from Holy Cross High School, Hughes is looking to make an impact during the 2020 club season. Limited during her junior campaign for Holy Cross, Hughes, who also competes for Union 17-1, recorded 35 kills and 11 digs in five matches. A versatile performer, Hughes is productive playing outside hitter or defensive specialist. Holy Cross captured the 21st District championship and reached the 6th Region Semifinals in 2019.
Natalie Kirzinger: A 5-11 junior outside hitter from Assumption High School, Kirzinger emerged as a contributor for state champion Assumption during the 2019 prep season. Over her first 17 matches, Kirzinger registered 40 kills. Now competing for KIVA 17 Red in the 2020 club season, Kirzinger will be looking to contribute even more as an outside hitter. Looking ahead, Kirzinger will be among the experienced returnees for Assumption in the 2020 high school season.
Fallen Lanham: A 5-8 junior outside hitter from Mercy Academy, Lanham helped to lead her high school team throughout its 2019 season. Through her first 41 matches with Mercy Academy in 2019, Lanham landed 209 kills and 89 aces. The Jaguars finished runner-up in the state after capturing 24th District and 6th Region titles. With Lanham helping to lead, Mercy Academy compiled a 36-7 record. Now, Lanham is competing for KIVA 17 Red.
