Class of 2021, soon to be seniors, WE SEE YOU!!!
The last time the Nebraska Husker Volleyball Team had three Nebraska High School players in a recruiting class was 2013; remember Rolfzen, Rolfzen, Hunter? That equated to two national champions and two B1G champions (1 for Rolfzens and 2 for a redshirted Hunter). And the expectations are high for the Nebraska recruits in this class, Lindsay Krause (Omaha Skutt Catholic), Whitney Lauenstain (Waverly), and Rylee Gray (Elkhorn South).
But the volleyball talent in this class doesn’t stop there, by far! With a deep list of hitters at the pin and in the middles, add in Division I recruits Norah Sis (Papillion-LaVista, Creighton) and Shayla McCormick ( Omaha Skutt Catholic, UNO). And ,we are patiently waiting for any decisions by Hannah Keplar (Milford), Kalli Kroeker (Norris), Macy Kamler (BDS), and Lauren Pick (Wayne).
The top three in the setter category add to the DI recruit list in Allison Gray (Omaha Skutt Catholic, Arizona State), Elle Glock (Wahoo, USC), and Addison Heidemann (Diller-Odell, Iowa State). Not only are they leaders on the court but they have the mindset and abilities to set up their hitters for success. Peyton Neff (uncommitted) from Sidney is putting in extra time this winter with Nebraska Juniors out of Lincoln. Natalie Segel led her Pleasanton team to a 32-2 record last fall.
And those liberos, sometimes the unsung hero, but these ones are in the right place at the right time often times playing suffocating defense against opponents. At this time, Molly Ramsey (Norris, Kansas State), Brilee Wieseler (Elkhorn South, UNO) and Elisabeth Tomlin (Lincoln Southwest, Chatanooga) are the only committed liberos on the rankings list. Expect more to come from this group!
