Here are six Northeastern Kentucky freshmen to watch.
Bella Blackburn: A freshmen setter, Blackburn was instrumental offensively for Paintsville throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. Blackburn led Paintsville in a key category, recording 931 assists. One of the most underrated young prep volleyball players in the state, regardless of class, Blackburn ranked second in digs (239) for the Tigers.
Kameron Fry: A freshman libero, Fry led Fairview throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. As a freshman, Fry recorded a team-high 876 digs for Fairview, along with 85 service aces. Fry will enter the 2020 high school volleyball season as one of the top players in the 16th Region.
Hailey Little Hailey Little MB Paintsville | 2023 State KY : A freshman middle blocker, Little was among the leaders for Paintsville during the 2019 season. Little, who was named Honorable Mention All-State at the conclusion of the 2020 season, logged a team-high 440 kills and 50 blocks.
Graycin Price: A freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist, Price ranked second in both kills and digs for Fairview while leading the Eagles in service aces. Price is among the most versatile young high school volleyball players in Northeastern Kentucky.
Madison Roar: A freshman setter/outside hitter for Rowan County, Roar was named the 16th Region Player of the Year in 2019. One of the most talented high school volleyball players in the state, Roar led Rowan County in both assists and service aces while excelling at the net as well.
Kara Ward: A freshman middle blocker, Ward helped to pace Paintsville. During her freshman season in 2019, Ward delivered 254 kills, 91 digs and 52 service aces for the Tigers. The athletic Ward is expected to have an even bigger impact for her team during the 2020 high school volleyball season.
