Here are six uncommitted Louisville 17 defensive specialists to watch.
Maddie Ford: A 5-10 defensive specialist, Ford is a student-athlete from Assumption High School. Providing size at her position, Ford continues to build momentum for her high school senior season later in the year. Ford is competing for KIVA 17 White.
Isabella Hughes: A 5-7 defensive specialist/outside hitter, Hughes is a student-athlete from Holy Cross High School (Louisville). A versatile player, Hughes has the ability to contribute to both defensively and offensively. Hughes is competing for Union Asics 17-1.
Lucy Malone: A 5-4 defensive specialist/libero, Malone is a student-athlete from Sacred Heart Academy. A key player for Sacred Heart Academy throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, Malone recorded 203 digs in 39 matches. Malone is competing for Union Asics 17-1.
Karly McNeil: A 5-7 defensive specialist, McNeil is a student-athlete from North Oldham High School. An instrumental performer as North Oldham captured the 8th Region championship, McNeil registered a team-high 412 digs along with 32 service aces in 36 matches for her prep team. McNeil is competing for KIVA 17 White.
Madilyn O’Toole: A 5-9 junior defensive specialist, O’Toole is a student-athlete from Assumption High School. Prior to the Rockets taking the floor in the 2020 state tournament, O’Toole logged 179 digs. Building momentum for her senior campaign with back-to-back-to-back state champion Assumption, O’Toole is competing for KIVA 17 Red.
Lizzie Papalia: A 5-6 defensive specialist, Papalia is a student-athlete from Kentucky Country Day School. A leader for Kentucky Country Day during the 2019 prep season, Papalia posted 207 assists, 192 digs, 67 kills and 35 service aces in 21 matches. Papalia is competing for KIVA 17 White.
