Here are five 5th Region setters to watch.
Allie Blair: A junior setter/opposite, Blair is a student-athlete from Central Hardin High School. Able to deliver from multiple positions, Blair executed regularly for Central Hardin throughout the 2019 prep volleyball season. Blair registered 622 assists, 174 digs and 68 service aces over 40 matches in 2019. Highly active in matches, Blair is a solid communicator who runs offenses efficiently.
Grace Filburn: A junior setter, Filburn is a student-athlete from Elizabethtown High School. Filburn flourished for Elizabethtown during the 2019 high school volleyball season, posting 386 assists, 104 digs and 52 service aces in 39 matches. Filburn is a vocal leader who thrives when setting the ball for teammates. A stout server, Filburn is among the 5th Region’s most underrated players.
Katie Floyd: A sophomore setter/defensive specialist, Floyd is a student-athlete from Taylor County High School. Floyd helped to lead Taylor County during the 2019 prep season, recording 1,010 assists and 361 digs in 39 matches. Highly productive, Floyd digs and pursues well in addition to producing along the front row when needed.
Carol Hellard: A junior setter, Hellard is a student-athlete from Thomas Nelson High School. Instrumental for Thomas Nelson throughout the 2019 high school volleyball campaign, Hellard logged 719 assists, 310 digs and 43 service aces in 32 matches. Hellard identifies blockers well and uses her athleticism to move and help the offense flow successfully.
Julie Keiter: A sophomore setter/defensive specialist, Keiter is a student-athlete from John Hardin High School. Versatile, Keiter helped to lead John Hardin throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. A key contributor both offensively and defensively, Keiter digs and blocks consistently. Agile, Keiter is among the top athletes on the John Hardin volleyball team’s roster.
