Here are five Northeastern Kentucky sophomores on the rise.
Maggy Moore: A sophomore setter/opposite hitter, Moore is a student-athlete from reigning 16th Region champion Rowan County High School. After chipping in for Rowan County during its 16th Region title-winning season, Moore is expected to take on a larger role for her prep team later in the year. Productive as a setter and a hitter, Moore has shown the ability to cover the floor well and make quick decisions.
Christin Corey: A sophomore middle hitter/outside hitter/right side hitter, Corey is a student-athlete from Russell High School. Contributing for Russell throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, Corey recorded 73 kills, 35 digs and 35 service aces. A versatile player, Corey is a strong hitter who delivers from both sides and passes well in addition to finishing strong.
Holly Jordan: A sophomore middle blocker, Jordan is a student-athlete from Lawrence County High School. Earlier in the year, Jordan was competing for Bluegrass Volleyball Academy of Eastern Kentucky. Strong at the net, Jordan contributed for Lawrence County throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season. Jordan consistently uses quick attacks on offense and is blocking consistently.
MaKenna Munn: A sophomore middle hitter, Munn is a student-athlete from Greenup County High School. Munn delivered for Greenup County throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, concluding the campaign with 101 kills. Able to read opponents well, Munn is a solid blocker.
Emily Ruggles: A sophomore setter/right side hitter/outside hitter, Ruggles is a student-athlete from Russell High School. Ruggles logged 101 assists and 92 digs for Russell in 2019. One of the most versatile high school volleyball players in Northeastern Kentucky, Ruggles is productive hitting from either side of the floor and has shown the ability to provide precise passes.
