Here are five underrated 13th Region seniors-to-be.
Hannah Creech: A junior setter/outside hitter, Creech is a student-athlete from Jackson County High School. Creech delivered for Jackson County in all 28 of the Generals’ matches during the 2019 high school volleyball season, ending the campaign with 82 kills, 169 assists, 67 digs and 100 service aces. Creech is an excellent passer who hits consistently from the left side. Athletic, Creech is a strong server who will take on an even bigger role for her team later in the year.
Madison Ford: A junior outside hitter/middle hitter, Ford is student-athlete from Bell County High School. Ford appeared in 23 of Bell County’s 28 matches in 2019, registering 175 kills, 353 digs and 53 digs. A proven leader on the floor, Ford was instrumental in helping Bell County capture the 52nd District title. Able to thrive in multiple categories, Ford is an excellent hitter from the right side who reads opponents well.
Reaghan Jones: A junior middle hitter/outside hitter, Jones is a student-athlete from Knox Central High School. Jones appeared in a 26 of Knox Central’s 29 matches during the 2019 high school volleyball season. A versatile player, Jones recorded 128 kills, 265 digs and 46 service aces during during her junior campaign. Jones, who moves well along the net, has established herself as a capable blocker who finishes strong with hard swings.
Alexis Lowe: A junior middle hitter, Lowe is a student-athlete from Lynn Camp High School. Lowe helped to lead Lynn Camp to a 51st District runner-up finish and appearance in the 13th Region Semifinals during the 2019 high school volleyball season. Lowe provides a strong presence in the middle. A skilled blocker, Lowe works well in tandem and is observant and communicative.
Cara Whitus: A junior right side hitter, Whitus is a student-athlete from Corbin High School. Whitus helped to lead Corbin to the 13th Region championship in 2019. With Whitus among the key contributors, Corbin won an opening round match over Rowan County in the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament. Whitus built momentum during the second half of the 2019 prep volleyball season. Able to elevate quickly, Whitus is a productive hitter and a precise passer who can set efficiently.
