Here are four Louisville defensive specialists on the rise.
Ally Brown: A 5-6 sophomore defensive specialist, Brown is a student-athlete from Assumption High School. Brown was on the floor earlier in the year, competing for KIVA 16 Red during the 2020 club volleyball season. Brown built momentum in the abbreviated club volleyball season and will be looking to carry it over into the 2020 prep campaign. Athletic, Brown is consistent as a passer and communicates well. Brown has shown the ability to thrive in serve receive and produce as a server.
Alyssa Burke: A 5-7 sophomore defensive specialist, Burke is a student-athlete from Sacred Heart Academy. Burke took the court as a defensive specialist for KIVA 16 White during the 2020 club volleyball season earlier in the year. Making an impact on a club team which featured several players from state prep powerhouse Assumption, Burke improved her stock. A strong server who is quick, Burke displays leadership qualities. Burke has stellar reflexes and reads the the offenses of opposing teams efficiently.
Madelyn Tucker: A 5-8 sophomore defensive specialist, Tucker is a student-athlete from Christian Academy-Louisville. Earlier in the year, Tucker competed for Union Asics 15-2 and continued to improve as a player. During the 2019 high school volleyball season, Tucker recorded 167 digs and 59 service aces in 91 sets over Christian Academy-Louisville’s 32 matches. Tucker will be looking to take on an even larger role for her high school team later in the year. An athletic defensive specialist who excels as a passer, Tucker is reliable and an effective server.
Keatyn Steinemann: A 5-4 sophomore defensive specialist, Steinemann is a student-athlete from Atherton High School. Earlier in the year, Steinemann was on the court for KIVA 16 Black during the 2020 club volleyball season and continued to make strides. Steinemann contributed for Atherton throughout the 2019 prep season and will be among the most experienced players back for the Rebels in the 2020 high school campaign. Highly communicative and quick, Steinemann provides her team consistent digging and quality defensive coverage.
