Unfortunately a few schools don’t use MaxPreps, therefore the ability to get information on some players was difficult. Here are some players you possibly don’t know that you will by November.
2021
Brooke Truman – MH – Belton High School
Belton earned 13 wins in 2019 and Truman was an important contributor to this win total. The middle hitter had 118 kills on the season with a .221 hitting percentage. She also showed the ability to raise her game defensively earning 37 blocks.
Kendra Sieker – MH/OH – Fort Osage High School
The Indians of Fort Osage hit the 20 win total last fall. A major reason why was the right arm of Kendra Sieker. During her junior season, she added 100 kills to her sophomore total to finish with 243. She showed to be a consistent hitter adding a .354 hitting percentage. Sieker should give teams fits in 2020.
Aly Young – OH/DS – Fort Osage High School
Young was another important piece to the increased win total for Fort Osage in 2019. The undersized hitter contributed 126 kills from the outside to complement Kendra Sieker. This fall she should reach over 200 digs after 143 the season before.
Clara Gower – L – Grain Valley High School
A quality you find in many good teams is solid libero play. And that was true for Grain Valley with the play of Gower last season. The junior defender dug up 313 balls in the back-row. She also showed to be steady in serve-receive, passing the ball 379 times. These numbers should increase in her final high school season.
2022
Oliva Williams – OH – Grain Valley High School
Grain Valley was a young team in 2019 as they fought their way to 16 wins. The win total should increase even more if Williams matches her play from last season. The sophomore had 182 kills to go along with 233 digs on the year.
Addison Baumgartner – OH – Grain Valley High School
The other outside in the Grain Valley line up, Baumgartner will have another solid season in 2020. In 2019, the 5’7″ hitter had over 150 kills with 152. In limited back-row play, she managed 97 digs on the year. Both of these numbers should rise drastically this season.
Kellie Overturf – MH – Grain Valley High School
The third sophomore to make this list, Overturf may have the biggest statistical gain in 2020. After a season with 114 kills and 38 blocks, she could potentially be a 200/100 player after gaining valuable experience last year.
2023
Avery Caskey – OH – Belton High School
The lone freshman in the white division list, Caskey will not have a sophomore slump in 2020. In her first varsity season, the outside hitter had 105 kills. This year she looks to play six rotations and increase on her 46 digs from a season ago.
