As the senior class of 2020 will be graduating, Coaches are looking to the future for possible newcomers to fill the empty holes on the roster. Below are 4 Northern Kentucky DS/Liberos in the hunt!
Madison Clore (Highlands Highschool): As the Bluebirds graduate Libero Rylee Kirschenbaum and DS Brooke Blitz there is an opportunity for DS Madison Clore to take-on the Libero position. Clore played the majority of last season and totaled 199 digs and 157 receptions.
Lexi Rogers (Scott High School): While sophomore DS/Liberos Laine Morman and Audrey Griffin return to the eagles there is still an opportunity to earn playing time on the backcourt. Rogers was a rostered member of Varsity during the 2019 season. She plays a quick and relentless style of defense. Rogers is a DS who is not afraid to hustle or hit the floor. She is currently competing for NKYVC 15 Typhoon.
Anna Hamilton (Conner High School): Conner will not be graduating any defensive specialists in 2020 but there is still the opportunity for movement on the Varsity roster come next season. As an 8th grader, Hamilton competed as the Libero for the Junior Varsity team in 2019. Hamilton is a natural volleyball player who commands and controls serve receive and match tempo. Her abilities could help seal the back court for the cougars. Hamilton is also a member of the Girls Varsity Basketball team.
Victoria Isles (Walton Verona): Walton Verona graduates Libero Nora Caudill in 2020, leaving the Libero position open for the upcoming season. Isles was a varsity DS in the 2019 season and tallied the second most-digs. She will be a senior in 2020 and will be competing in her 3rd varsity season. Her experience and playing ability make her an obvious choice for the Bearcats next Libero.
