Here are five versatile 1st Region hitters to watch.
Gracie Adams: A junior outside hitter/middle hitter, Adams is a junior from Calloway County High School. Adams contributed for Calloway County throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, logging 52 kills in her team’s first 23 matches. Quick-reacting, Adams reads setters and opposing defenses accurately while being a stout hitter.
Jasmine McCloyn: A junior opposite/outside hitter/setter, McCloyn is a student-athlete from Fulton City High School. As a sophomore during the 2019 high school volleyball season, McCloyn posted 43 kills, 36 assists, 148 digs and 58 service aces in 24 matches. With a diverse skillset, McCloyn contributes from multiple positions. McCloyn is an accurate passer who has emerged as one of the leaders for her squad.
Kenzie Mason: A senior outside hitter/opposite, Mason is a student-athlete from McCracken County High School. Mason helped to lead McCracken County to the 2019 1st Region title, registering 345 kills, 50 digs and 31 service aces in the Mustangs’ 41 matches. An exceptional athlete who excels in multiple categories, Mason is a hard hitter and an efficient server.
Adele Mavigliano: A senior opposite/middle blocker, Mavigliano is another student-athlete from McCracken County High School. A standout at the net, Mavigliano registered 132 kills and 15 blocks in 41 matches for reigning 1st Region champion McCracken County during the 2019 prep volleyball season. Aggressive, Mavigliano is a go-to hitter who blocks well both individually and with others.
Bryce O’Neil: A junior right side/outside hitter, O’Neil is a student-athlete from Ballard Memorial High School. O’Neil appeared in all 39 matches for 1st Region Semifinalist Ballard Memorial during the 2019 high school volleyball season, recording 93 kills and 81 digs. A productive hitter from either side, O’Neil possesses solid jumping ability and has shown that she can notch digs regularly.
