Here are three under the radar 16th Region right sides.
Mallory Allen: Following a successful sophomore campaign for Russell, Allen is poised to carry momentum over into her junior season. Allen, who has played right side, outside hitter and middle hitter, appeared in 30 of former 16th Region frontrunner Russell’s 35 matches in 2019. The versatile Allen posted 97 kills, 10 blocks and 28 digs for Russell during the 2019 high school volleyball season. Allen digs for quick attacks regularly and finishes strong at the net.
Emily Maynard: A talented young player from Greenup County, Maynard is headed into her sophomore season. Agile, Maynard appeared in 30 of Greenup County’s 36 matches as a freshman during the 2019 high school volleyball season. In 2019, Maynard recorded 19 kills and 30 assists for Greenup County over 51 sets. A stellar passer, Maynard is a stout hitter from the right side who possesses solid jumping abilities.
Peyton Steagall: A longtime leader, Steagall delivered for West Carter as a junior during the 2019 high school volleyball season. Underrated, Steagall was instrumental in West Carter capturing the 62nd District title and reaching the 16th Region Volleyball Tournament Semifinals in 2019.
