Vanessa Polk Vanessa Polk 6'2" | MB John Burroughs | 2022 State #59 Nation MO Burroughs
Polk has the potential to take over a match when things are going right for her team. She is the glue that holds the Bombers together. On a more rounded team, her numbers would be off the charts. With 237 kills last year and 537 for her career Polk will be a big D1 recruit. Club where it’s at for this middle.
Madison Scheer Madison Scheer 6'1" | OH Eureka | 2022 State #107 Nation MO Eureka
Scheer came on the scene as a freshman and won a state title. Even had 12 kills in that title match. With 503 career kills, she should take off this year. The kid has D1 all over her. 6’0 outside that can do it all. Look for her to have a big year for the Wildcats.
Avery McVicker Cameron
The Dragons have a cannon on the outside in McVicker. With her 316 kills last year, and her 489 career kills, she will again be the go-to hitter for the Dragons. 484 digs also show that she’s not a hitter but a solid all-around player.
Reese Schaaf Reese Schaaf 5'10" | RS El Dorado Springs | 2022 State MO El Dorado Springs
Reese is part of a 1 2 punch for the Bulldogs. The 5-10 setter/right-side hitter puts up solid numbers with 318 assists, 30 aces, 198 digs, and 285 kills. Season-high 16 kills last year. On the basketball court, she averaged 20 points and 8 boards a game.
Tevi Gurley Tevi Gurley 5'10" | OH El Dorado Springs | 2022 State MO El Dorade Springs
Here’s the second half to Reese’s punch. Tevi is another 5-10 setter/right-side hitter for the Bulldogs. With 343 assists, 54 aces, 233 digs, 274 kills, this is a combo not seen often in a Class 2 school. With Tevi Gurley Tevi Gurley 5'10" | OH El Dorado Springs | 2022 State MO and Reese Schaaf Reese Schaaf 5'10" | RS El Dorado Springs | 2022 State MO setting and hitting the right-side, the Bulldogs should be tough to beat. With 960 career kills, 1314 career assists, and 778 digs, this combo has stats in two years most teams won’t have in four years.
Chloe Kaminski Chloe Kaminski 5'9" | DS/L Blue Springs | 2022 State #115 Nation MO Blue Springs
Kaminski’s arm should almost be illegal. The whip and the finish are fantastic for this 5’9 outside hitter. I see her having a monster year for the Wildcats. With her career 454 kills so far, I could see her potentially doubling that this year. Last year’s 258 kills and 259 digs will increase with her experience from last year. That arm swing!
Madison Corf Madison Corf 5'11" | OH Liberty | 2022 State MO Liberty
Madison is another Liberty Bluejay on a list of the young and restless it seems. This bunch is young and talented. Madison had 317 kills last year. She is a heavy arm 5’10 outside that hits brilliant shots but can slam it to the ground. 431 career kills and should make that number jump this season.
Kennedy Lane Kennedy Lane 5'9" | OH St. Pius X | 2022 State MO St. Pius Festus
Kennedy seems to almost come out of nowhere last year. What a way to do it. With 333 kills on a state qualifier and the team leader in kills was impressive for the sophomore. Now the junior will not be a surprise to anyone—season-high 20 kills. Look for huge numbers from Kennedy this season.
Jessa Hylton Carl Junction
Jessa’s on a team with a solid hitter and a great setter. So she might go a little unnoticed at times, but she put up a solid sophomore year. With 241 kills last year, she will be looked at more this year to make the offense more balanced. I mean, she will be given the ball more this year. She was the second kill leader on the team.
Isabella Limback Santa Fe
In just her first season on varsity, the sophomore leads the team to a runner up finish in Class 1. The 5’10 junior finished last year with 370 kills and kept the Limback family tradition of making it to state intact. This year should be more the same for Santa Fe and Limback. Look for Limback getting over 500+ kills this season alone.
Caroline Beckman Eldon
Beckman, in her first year of varsity, tallied 352 kills. The 5’9 outside shouldn’t disappoint this season either. Coached by an Eldon legend Melinda Wyre-Washington a dynamic outside jumping jack herself in her high school days, if Beckman takes after her coach, she will be blasting balls all season long. Several 20+ kill games for Beckman last year. Eldon needs to toughen up the schedule.
Jaycee Fixsen Jaycee Fixsen 5'11" | OH Nixa | 2022 State MO Nixa
5’11 Fixsen was a big reason Nixa was the Class 4 state champions last year. This year she will be asked to do a lot more than the 294 kills and 31 blocks if Nixa wants to repeat or even make it back to the state tourney. Jaycee has the game to take it to the next level, and her setter Sydney Golden Sydney Golden 5'9" | S Nixa | 2022 State MO is one of the best to feed her the ball. Watch for Fixsen to take off this year.
Ella Bertram Valle Catholic
The 6’0 came on in her first year on varsity and made an impact right away. Ending the year with 278 kills and 49 blocks was a great start. Hitting .381% was even more impressive for a sophomore middle. Look for big things to come from this Warrior as a junior.
Addie Johnson Woodland
Johnson made leaps and bounds from her freshman to sophomore years. Increasing her kills from 93 to 249 was what the Cardinals needed to make that playoff push. Look for Johnson and the Cardinals to have a big year this year.
