Quarterfinals
5 Bradleyville High School 1-15
4 Fordland High School 2-15-1
6 Koshkonong High School 1-4
3 Niangua High School 3-13
Semifinals
2 Plato High School 9-13-1
3 Niangua High School 3-13
1 Summersville High School 8-10-6
4 Fordland High School 2-15-1
Finals
1 Summersville High School 8-10-6
2 Plato High School 9-13-1
Summersville won this district last year, and I see them doing the same this year. Summersville already took out two seed Plato 25-14, 25-16, 25-21. Summersville and Plato should meet again in the finals, and Summersville should move on to their second straight sectionals.
District 8 Prediction: College Heights Champions
1 College Heights Christian High School 21-3
6 Exeter High School 1-21-3
2 McAuley Catholic High School 13-16
3 Thomas Jefferson Independent Day High School 10-13
5 Verona High School 5-20-1
4 Wheaton High School 15-11-1
Not much of a familiar area for me in terms of Class 1 teams, but I did some research to get the best idea on the field.
Quarterfinals
5 Verona High School 5-20-1
4 Wheaton High School 15-11-1
Wheaton has taken both meetings so far this year. A 3-1 and a 2-0 win. I’ll go out on a limb and say Wheaton continues the winning streak with a 3-1 win to move on to the semifinals.
3 Thomas Jefferson Independent Day High School 10-13
6 Exeter High School 1-21-3
Thomas Jefferson vs. Exeter, The Cavaliers, already has a comfortable 3-0 win and will win this one 3-0 to move on to the semifinals to face McAuley Catholic.
Semifinals
4 Wheaton High School 15-11-1
1 College Heights Christian High School 21-3
25-10, 25-14, 25-12 College Heights win the last meeting was a little too convincing not to pick the Lady Cougars to win 3-0 in the semifinals.
2 McAuley Catholic High School 13-16
3 Thomas Jefferson Independent Day High School 10-13
This match-up will be a little more interesting. Three meetings on the season with McAuley Catholic holding a 2-1 series lead.
McAuley has senior leadership in Gliza Damaso, Carmen Colson, and Kate Huthsing, while Thomas Jefferson has seniors Edwinna Hiebert and Sonia Carlson. Common Opponents McAuley is 6-2, and Thomas Jefferson is 5-4. Going with McAuley Catholic Lady Warriors in 4.
Finals
1 College Heights Christian High School 21-3
2 McAuley Catholic High School 13-16
The final is a rematch from a little over a week ago, with the winner being CHC 25-12, 27-29, 25-14, 25-18, and going to pick College Heights with a 3-0 win to move on to Sectionals.
