Red Pool
Kickapoo will come first in the Pool with a win over Ozark already this year 3-0. I don’t see anything changing in this match up.
Ozark will come in as the second-place finisher in the Pool. With a vast tradition for Ozark, I think they can handle Jefferson City and Central easily.
Jefferson City was up and down this year after a stellar campaign last season. With former Mizzou volleyball Sydney Deeken guiding the team, I will give them the edge to take third in the Pool.
Central is having a solid year but not up to the level as the other three in this Pool.
White Pool
Nixa will have its hands full with St. Francis Borgia and Carl Junction, but I think they will be able to take them.
St. Francis Borgia is new to the field this year and just came off a huge win beating Lafayette 3-1 and Helias 3-1. Huge win because these two powerhouse programs are now in the same district.
Carl Junction is hot right now, but I’m not sure they have what it takes to knock of Nixa or Borgia.
Glendale rounds out the Pool in the 4th place spot.
Bracket play will be the top 2 teams in each Pool.
- Red Pool Kickapoo vs. 2. White Pool Borgia
- White Pool Nixa vs. 2 Red Pool Ozark
The battles in the tournament will be great matchups. I think Borgia will take out Kickapoo. The common opponent for each is Willard. Borgia beat Willard 2-1 while Willard beat Kickapoo 2-1.
Nixa will knock off Ozark, but it will be a battle. Ozark will not be an easy team to beat a third time for the Eagles.
The final will come down to the White Pool with Nixa and Borgia. I see a battle, but Nixa pulling out the win in 3. Nixa backcourt is much better than Borgia’s. If Borgia can lock down the passing and defense, they could roll Nixa, but recent struggles in the backcourt could catch up with the Knights.
