Here are five 10th Region sophomores on the rise.
Bailey Beiting: A Campbell County sophomore right side hitter/outside hitter, Beiting was a key contributor for her team throughout the 2020 high school volleyball season. Beiting competed in 18 of Campbell County’s 22 matches, recording 44 kills, 22 blocks and 23 digs. Versatile, Beiting is a strong hitter from each side.
Abbie DeBord: A Bourbon County sophomore defensive specialist, DeBord was a steady performer in the latest prep volleyball campaign. DeBord appeared in 17 of Bourbon County’s 20 matches, compiling 82 kills, 5 blocks, 20 assists, 135 digs and 22 service aces. Able to dig and pursue well, DeBord is a productive back row hitter.
Mercedes Hedgecock: A St. Patrick sophomore middle hitter, Hedgecock produced along the net during the 2020 high school volleyball season. Hedgecock appeared in 19 of St. Patrick’s 23 matches, posting 87 kills, 15 blocks, 14 assists, 32 digs and 48 service aces. The St. Patrick sophomore excels in the middle, blocking well individually and with teammates while using quick attacks regularly.
Maddie Johnson: A Bracken County sophomore setter, Johnson has shown consistency in the first half of her prep career. Johnson was on the court for 19 of Bracken County’s 21 matches in the 2020 high school volleyball season, tallying 27 kills, 9 blocks, 19 assists, 36 dgs and 57 service aces. Developing into a vocal leader, Johnson identifies blockers well.
Hannah Stefanic: A Harrison County sophomore defensive specialist, Stefanic delivered throughout the 2020 high school volleyball season. Prepared to take on a larger role for Harrison County in 2021, Stefanic registered 67 digs as a sophomore. Stefanic has shown the ability to excel from both the back row and front row.
