Here are four 1st Region freshmen to watch.
Gracie Howard: A Christian Fellowship freshman outside hitter, Howard turned in a solid-around performance for her team during the 2020 high school volleyball season. As a freshman, Howard posted 104 kills, 31 blocks, 137 digs and 37 service aces. Agile, Howard has shown the ability to produce from both the front row and back row.
Taylor Jackson: A Graves County freshman outside hitter, Jackson was a consistent contributor for her team throughout the 2020 high school volleyball season. As a freshman, Jackson delivered 94 kills, 16 blocks, 104 digs and 16 service aces. Jackson elevates well and digs for quick attacks regularly.
Molly Miller: A Graves County freshman defensive specialist/setter, Miller thrived in her latest prep campaign. Contributing both defensively and offensively, Miller registered 662 assists, 247 digs, 48 kills, 18 blocks and 24 service aces as a freshman. An accurate passer, Miller is a vocal leader.
Laney Shehorn: A Carlisle County freshman defensive specialist, Shehorn was among the leaders for her team in the 2020 high school volleyball season. Shehorn’s freshman season included 142 digs and 36 service aces. One of the most underrated young volleyball players in the 1st Region, Shehorn is a stout back row hitter.
