Seniors
Madison Gellis (Southern)
Gellis is coming off of solid junior campaign for the conference champs. She finished with 198 digs on the year and has great versatility. She’s a phenomenal passer and will be a focal point for Southern’s chances of repeating.
Riyana Patel (St. John Vianney)
Patel is coming off of a junior season where she finished with 162 digs on the year. Patel is one on a team where everyone showcased their ability to record digs. She’s underrated by how much depth the team has.
Victoria Matthews (Jackson Liberty)
Matthews was all over the court making digs for Jackson Liberty. She finished with 239 digs on the year. Her ability was showcased as a passer too to set up Kim Stallworth (setter) in ideal situations to assist in a kill.
Joana Nieto (Lakewood)
Nieto of Lakewood helped keep them in games by having 206 digs on the year. She was able to showcase her athleticism in the backrow.
Juniors
Caitlin Bermingham (Trinity Hall)
Bermingham was on a squad last season where her statistics are lower than most because of the entire team having the same relative number of digs. She finished with 110 digs but look for her to have a massive junior year.
All of these ladies are very good passers and can cover all over the court. Some may get more recognition than others but all of them are going to be significant contributors for their squads to be successful this season.
