Here are three 16th Region freshman middles to watch.
Audrey Biggs: A Boyd County freshman middle blocker, Biggs is among the top freshmen in the state. Following a solid eighth grade season, Biggs recorded 180 kills, 74 blocks, 61 digs and 12 service aces during her junior campaign. A shortened 2020 high school volleyball season didn’t stop Biggs from excelling. Athletic and aggressive at the net, Biggs is a stellar blocker who delivers kills consistently.
Shaelee Holbrook: A Raceland freshman middle blocker, Holbrook was productive throughout the 2020 high school volleyball season. As a freshman, Holbrook recorded 52 kills, 24 digs and 9 service aces. Holbrook is agile, moves well to either side and executes fasts attacks regularly.
Lauren Knipp: An East Carter freshman middle blocker, Knipp is poised to take on a larger role for her team during the 2021 high school volleyball season, Knipp appeared in 11 of East Carter’s 22 matches as a freshman, gaining valuable experience early in her prep career. Knipp reads setters efficiently and adjusts to their approaches consistently.
