All five of these student-athletes will be heading into their junior seasons next fall and are members of the 2023 recruiting class.
MH, Katie Beeman, 6’0”, West Elk – Beeman is a tall middle, who can also play the pin. She finished her sophomore season leading the West Welk Patriots with 215 kills. She also added 62 blocks and will more than likely lead West Elk in those two categories in 2021 with a healthy season.
MH, Jacie Cummings, 5’7”, Sedan – Sedan was in led in kills in 2020 by Cummings a middle with a solid vertical. She finished her sophomore campaign with a total of 212 kills. Cummings also has a mean serve finishing with 52 service aces.
UT, Gabby Jacobs, 5’10”, Ellinwood – Jacobs is a talented athlete who can play all over the court. She has played outside hitter, middle hitter, and setter. She finished the 2020 season with 188 kills for the Eagles.
OH, Bella Baker, 5’7”, Ellinwood – Ellinwood should be a competitive team for the next two years as another sophomore, Baker also among the state leaders in kills in Class 2A. She is a six-rotation player who finished with 176 kills and 187 digs.
OH, Kaylee Thompson, 5’10”, Jackson Heights – Thompson might be a better prospect as a DS down the road as she had 258 digs in comparison to 139 kills. She will be a leader for the Cobras in 2021 and an interesting talent whose game could evolve in a couple of different directions.
