Here are four 2023 Region 6 defensive players on the rise.
Emma Baxter (2023) is a defensive specialist/libero from Holy Cross (Louisville) High School. Quick and athletic, Baxter delivers consistently. Baxter is a strong back row hitter who can contribute from the front row when needed.
Abrie Ford (2023) is a defensive specialist from North Bullitt High School. Ford is a productive back row hitter. Agile and fast, Ford covers the floor extensively and has shown the ability to be a reliable hitter and passer.
Torrie Frist (2023) is a defensive specialist/libero/setter from Bullitt East High School. Frist possesses solid defensive and passing skills that allow her to thrive in multiple positions. Among the leaders for her high school team, Frist regularly turns the first touch into solid passers to the setter.
Savana Snead (2023) is a defensive specialist from North Bullitt High School. Able to cover the court thoroughly, Snead digs and pursues well. A player who led her team in digs as a sophomore, Snead is poised to take on a larger role in the 2021 high school volleyball season.
